Linda is a landscape painter who divides her time between the hills of Northumberland and the coastline of Berwickshire and East Lothian.

Walking the "Hills to the Coast", with a sketch book and a phone camera, she captures memories of place and the passing glimpses of light and colour, before returning to her Rothbury studio. Here she works on rapid response studies before creating larger scale paintings.

Linda works in both soft pastels, and acrylic inks and paints on board and paper, Linda's working life has touched on land surveying, cartography and archaeology – all elements which she now brings to her landscape paintings of the northern coastlines of Northumberland, the Borders and East Lothian.

The places that hold fast her interest, and stimulate her art, have become increasingly monumental in scale over the last few years – from the folds and sediments of rocks showing the passage of unimaginable lengths of geological time, to the more recent megalithic sites that show the hand of  humans in both the present and historical past.
